Privacy policy

The short version. The Encue app doesn’t collect anything. It runs on your Mac and never connects to the internet. This website only keeps what you type into the guestlist form, and uses it only to tell you when your early access is ready.

The Encue app

It works offline. Encue makes no network connections. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking and no account.
Your library stays on your Mac. Encue reads the rekordbox collection XML you choose. It never writes to rekordbox, and we never see your library, your tracks or your sets.
It only opens what you allow. macOS keeps Encue in a sandbox, so it can read only the collection file and the folders you choose (your music, and rekordbox’s analysis for waveforms). It reads them and never changes them. It remembers your choices so it doesn’t ask again; Settings › Library › Forget Allowed Folders takes them back.
What it saves, on your Mac only: the sets you build, your settings, and its own analysis (such as detected keys and your beat-grid nudges). All of it lives in Encue’s own folder, ~/Library/Containers/com.encuedj.encue. Delete that folder and it’s gone.
Exports are yours. When you export a set, Encue writes a rekordbox XML file to the place you pick, and nothing else.

This website

The guestlist

When you join the guestlist we store:

your email address;
what you play on, if you choose to tell us;
when you signed up, which form you used, the page you came from, and your browser’s user-agent string;
a one-way hash of your IP address. We don’t store the address itself. The hash lets us stop the same person filling the list with repeated sign-ups. A short-lived counter based on the same hash expires after 10 minutes.

We use this only to email you about Encue early access: your invite and news about the launch. We don’t sell it, share it or use it for advertising. When you sign up, a notification with your email address is sent to our inbox, so we know you’re there.

We keep your details until early access is over or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. To be removed, email support@encuedj.com from the address you signed up with.

Cookies and tracking

encuedj.com uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. It doesn’t load anything from other companies: the fonts and the demo video are served from encuedj.com itself. WordPress only sets cookies if you log in to the site’s admin, which only the site owner does.

Who else handles the data

GoDaddy hosts the website and its database, in the United States.
Google (Gmail) hosts our inbox. Emails you send us, and guestlist notifications, arrive there.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Email support@encuedj.com and we’ll do it within 30 days. You’ve given us your email by consent, so you can withdraw that consent whenever you like. If you’re in the EU or UK and aren’t happy with how we handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Encue and this website are not aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If the change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
